Dear Friends of Mary's Place by the Sea,
This month we reflect back on the year 2010! We had spent 1 full year growing our wings at 7 Ocean Ave. The owners of the B & B, Rob and April Kaprelian gently guided us in hospitality and literally opened their doors wide open for our guests. We began to see the impact of our mission in the lives of women...
A guest of ours, Katerina, shares her memories...
"I was one of the early guests and was welcomed in Summer of 2010 for a one-night bed and breakfast stay. I was welcomed for a delicious healthy lunch, Reiki session, and REST!
I am forever grateful for the one night away from my cancer, one night to rest and heal without the obligations of my young children who were 6 months and 3 years old at the time. I was bald, sick from chemo, and exhausted! The morning after my stay I walked on the boardwalk and stumbled upon the farmer's market and bought collard greens for the first time! Interesting to think back because it was the beginning of my healing, of my healthy life choices, and of my empowerment to take back my life from cancer!
I am forever grateful for Mary's Place! I am a nine year young breast cancer survivor and had the pleasure of visiting Mary's Place last Fall! It is so beautiful to see what Michele and Maria have created through their vision, compassion, and years of work. Mary's Place is a true gift to women with cancer!"
We hope that you will take a moment to watch our video from 2010. You will hear from 2 special volunteers who were active at the time. We have always known that our mission was founded on LOVE; we could have never imagined how abundant that LOVE would grow through the years. Mary's Place by the Sea is the mission it is because of our incredible volunteers... now over 130 active volunteers! What a blessing they are to the women we serve and to our team!
Stay tuned as we continue to travel through our Mary's Place history!
