Dear Mary's Place by the Sea Supporters,
This month we reflect back on the year 2011! In the spring, we hosted Author and Speaker Susan Silberstein for a lecture on "Fighting Cancer with Your Fork". We were still serving veggie and hummus wraps to our guests at this time! Little did we know how much our meals would evolve, while staying true to our plant-based program. Our nutrition philosophy has remained
the same over the past ten years; we still embrace a vegan diet and give our guests the tools they need to make smart swaps in their daily lives.
At the end of September, we cut the ribbon and opened the doors to our new home at 15 Broadway. Surrounded again by our early supporters, we celebrated with a feast of paella - a traditional dish that is representative of communal gatherings. Reflecting on the photos and memories from this celebration, we are amazed to see so many faces that still frequent our
home and events today. Our volunteers and donors have become our family who, along with our guests, are woven together to create the beautiful tapestry of Mary's Place by the Sea.
We remember 2011 fondly: another year of growing our wings. Thank you to all who have encouraged us, in word and deed, both then and now.
