WALK-A-THON & 5K NEW DATE

Dear Friends of Mary’s Place by the Sea,

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your support over these past few months. In the last two weeks alone, we have had two virtual fundraisers which, combined, have raised over $20,000 for our guests. We are especially grateful to Pat Roddy for hosting an online fundraiser and to the organizers of Giving Tuesday Now. Thank you for your generosity in a time when it is needed most. We are amazed at the capabilities of technology to bring us all together in a time when we are apart.

Today would have been our 9th Annual Walk-A-Thon and 2nd Annual 5K. While we are heartbroken that we will not be together, we know that it is prudent for our guests and supporters to stay safe at home. We will be thinking of you all on Saturday and praying for the day when we can all be together again.

We are excited to share some happy news! We have confirmed a new date for the Walk/Run. We hope that you will save the date for Saturday, October 3rd. Registration is now open, click here for details! If you registered/sponsored for May 16th, please know your registration will be transferred to the October 3rd event.

We understand that the state of large group events for this year remains unknown. While it is our intent to gather our community on October 3rd, we will be closely following the instructions of Governor Phil Murphy and the suggestions from the CDC. If we cannot be together in person, or in the event of rain, the walk/run will be held virtually on October 3rd.

Our organization relies on this fundraiser each year to raise over $200,000 for our mission. The guests of Mary’s Place by the Sea need respite now more than ever. While our guests cannot visit our home at this time, they are taking advantage of free virtual services several times a week that are graciously being provided by our practitioners and volunteers. Please consider registering or sponsoring the Walk/Run and help us keep all services, accommodations and meals free for our guests.

We look forward to being with you this October!
