A Day of Connection and Celebration: The Soul Sister Gathering

Nothing Could Dim This Day of Celebration

On a spring afternoon at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, New Jersey, over 300 guests gathered for the 2025 Soul Sister Gathering. Though the skies brought a bit of rain, the day radiated warmth, strength, and unity. The event beautifully reflected the heart of Mary’s Place by the Sea: a community committed to supporting women with cancer — mind, body, and soul.

The Soul Sister Gathering was more than a reunion. It was a celebration, and a powerful reminder of what it means to walk beside someone during their healing journey. Former guests, their loved ones, caregivers, volunteers, and supporters came together to reconnect, share stories, and honor each other’s resilience. The atmosphere was filled with joyful moments: delicious food, exciting raffles, and meaningful conversations.

A Mission That Has Grown with Love

Mary’s Place by the Sea began 16 years ago with a small group of volunteers who believed in the power of compassion and care. That vision has grown into a sanctuary for rest, renewal, and healing. Women now travel from across the country to access services such as oncology massage, reflexology, counseling, Reiki, yoga, expressive writing, and guided meditation — all at no cost to them. This is made possible through the generosity of donors and the dedication of our extended community.

The Soul Sister Gathering reminds us that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we feel seen, held, and supported. It happens when we share laughter and tears, and when we gather in spaces that remind us we are not alone.

As Mary’s Place by the Sea continues to grow, so too does its circle of support. Events like this not only celebrate the strength and courage of the women we serve — they also help ensure that more women will continue to have access to the healing care they deserve.

We welcome guests for a maximum of two overnight retreats (one per year) while in guidelines.  Day retreats are limited to three per year while in guidelines.
