Pickle for a Purpose: Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser for Mary’s Place by the Sea

Posted on Posted on

Our Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser was a meaningful evening in support of Mary’s Place by the Sea. From the first match to the final raffle ticket, the event was built around a community with a shared commitment of helping women with cancer heal mind, body and soul.

A Mission Worth Rallying Around

The purpose behind the tournament was clear. Every dollar raised helps funds stay at Mary’s Place by the Sea, where women undergoing cancer treatment receive rest, support and integrative services in a peaceful environment. Our guests are invited to “press pause” on their daily responsibilities and take a moment to focus on themselves.

Although the event was filled with friendly competition on the court, conversations between matches often turned to personal stories of mothers, sisters, and friends who have walked through cancer and found strength through the Mary’s Place community.

Welcoming New Players

The tournament was open to all experience levels. In addition to match play, the night featured a beginner pickleball clinic led by professional instructors. This gave those who had never played before a chance to learn the game in a supportive environment. It became one of the most engaged parts of the event, and it brought new energy to the courts.

An Evening of Support

Off the court, the event continued to build momentum. Attendees visited the basket raffle, where donated prizes from local businesses created a steady flow of excitement and conversation. Many stayed long after their matches ended, supporting other players and enjoying the atmosphere created by volunteers and supporters.

Whether someone came to play, to learn, or simply to show up for the cause, they were part of something that made a lasting impact.

Real Results

The tournament raised over $30,000, which will directly support the care and integrative services provided at Mary’s Place by the Sea. These contributions mean more women will have access to the peace, wellness, and support they deserve during a challenging time in their lives.
