Joseph Konzelmann, Trustee

  • Joseph Konzelmann is Partner and Global Head of the Client and Capital Formation Group at TPG, a leading global private investment firm with over $120bn under management. He serves on the Firmwide Management Committee and on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.  Prior to joining TPG in 2020, Joseph was Managing Director and Senior Sovereigns Strategist at Goldman, Sachs & Co., which he joined in 2006. 

  • Earlier in his career, Joseph served in the Middle East division of the United States Central Intelligence Agency. He also served on the Joint Iraq Economic Task Force, where he worked on the Paris Club debt negotiations for Iraq. In addition, Joseph served on General David H. Petraeus’s Joint Strategic Assessment Team for US Central Command.

    Joseph was selected as an Institute of International Finance Future Leader, and he served as an adjunct fellow of the RAND Corporation.  Additionally, he was a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and, in 2019, Joseph was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

    He earned an MA, with honors, from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, and an AB, with honors, from Harvard College.  Joseph grew up in Monmouth County, where he is active in the local community.
