Expressive Writing with Carol C.

Available on Mondays at 2:00pm

4/5, 4/12, 4/19 and 4/26

 

Expressive Writing uses the act of writing and processing the written word to link feelings to events.

Expressive Writing provides a safe and cathartic experience and reduces stress. 

Writing in this form helps gradually ease feelings of emotional trauma.

 


 

 

Cooking with Chef Cathy

Available on Monday, 4/12 at 4:00pm

 

Chef Cathy will share a Mary’s Place by the Sea recipe and walk you through how to make the meal at home.

Her recipes are plant-based and include ingredients that nourish the body and soul. 

 


 

 

Mindfulness Meditation with Isabel G.

Available on Mondays at 7:00pm

What is mindfulness meditation? Explore the foundations of mindfulness meditation.

Practice mindfulness of the breath, body, emotions, self-compassion and loving-kindness. 

Open to those who are beginning or experienced in meditation.

Our certified practitioners provide an opportunity for guests to focus upon a sound,

object, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to reduce stress,

promote relaxation and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state.

 


 

 

Reflexology Techniques with Clare F.

Available on Tuesday, 4/13 at 7:00pm

 

Reflexology is a modality of massage used to relieve tension and promote wellness based on

the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands and head linked to every part of the body.

Reflexology has been found to promote healing and relieve stress.

 

Join Clare as she goes over the foundations of Reflexology and provides

you with at-home massage techniques. 

 


 

 

Chair Yoga with Sue W.
Available on Specific Wednesdays at 10:00am

4/14 and 4/28

 

This gentle form of yoga is practiced while seated in a chair or using a chair for stability during standing poses.

Sessions focus on improving balance, relieving stress, and increasing flexibility, circulation, and strength.

All guests are invited to attend and modifications are offered to meet the comfort level of those practicing. 

 


 

 

Soul Space with Andrea W.

Soul Space is a 60-minute session dedicated to reflection, non-denominational prayer and

conversation focusing on spirituality and the Divine. This will be a space of grace and calm where together we can connect

with our souls, listen to our inner guidance, and create deeper meaning within our own healing journeys.

Mary’s Place by the Sea offers Christian prayer as a spiritual activity

to reduce emotional stress and worry.

 


 

 

Rosary with Anne K.

The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer. The repetition in the Rosary is meant to lead one into restful and

contemplative prayer related to each Mystery. The gentle repetition of the words helps us to enter into the

silence of our hearts, where Christ's spirit dwells.

Writing can heal. Learn to use writing to confront the pain, fear, trauma, and strife in your life and to claim your unique voice.

The workshop will include creative writing prompts and will discuss the basic elements of every narrative. Be prepared to write. 

 


 

 

Afternoon Tea with Susan B.

A place for women with cancer to connect with each other, make new friends,

and engage in fun conversation with our House Manager Susan Barrett - just like at Mary's Place.

peaceful images in the mind, which helps to create harmony between the mind and body.

Guided imagery involves all the senses, the entire body and emotions.

This practice allows our guests to tap into their inner strength to cope with everyday stress.

 


 

 

Reiki Meditation with Joann R.

Available on Saturday, 4/17 at 4:00pm

 

In this 45-minute session, you will lie down or sit comfortably. After a brief guided meditation,

you will experience relaxing Reiki energy that will reach you where you are for your highest good.

This gentle form of yoga promotes physical and mental relaxation. It is practiced at a slow pace and focuses on 

long holds while incorporating breathing and pranayama techniques. Please bring a large towel or blanket to class.

Soul Space Prayer and Candle Lighting with Andrea W. 

Available on Sundays at 5:00pm

We will create a space for Divine support during this 30-minute prayer and candle lighting ceremony.

Participants have the option to bring their own prayer to the session to recite,

or submit a prayer in advance for Andrea to recite.
